Iqra Faisal, a resilient woman from<\/span>
Chandraye Road, Chungi Amar Siddu, Lahore,<\/span>
is a true example of how determination and<\/span>
timely support can transform lives. Iqra is<\/span> a<\/span>
mother of three daughters and lives with her<\/span>
husband, who works a modest private job.<\/span>
With limited income and growing household<\/span>
needs, it was difficult for the family to make<\/span>

Despite having only completed matriculation,<\/span>
Iqra was determined to<\/span> support her husband and improve her family\u2019s<\/span><\/span>
financial situation. She started a small food business from home, hoping<\/span>
it would provide some relief. However, due to a lack of business<\/span>
knowledge and experience, the venture did not succeed and eventually<\/span>
had<\/span> to be closed.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

In 2022, Iqra heard about HomeNet Pakistan (HNP) from a neighbor.<\/span>
Curious and hopeful, she decided to join the organization. This decision<\/span>
marked a turning point in her life. Through HomeNet Paki<\/span>stan, Iqra<\/span>
began participating in various awareness and skill<\/span>–<\/span>building sessions.<\/span><\/span>
<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

These sessions covered essential topics like customer dealing, time<\/span>
management, budgeting, profit calculation, and business marketing. For<\/span>
the first time, Iqra realized where<\/span> she had gone wrong in her earlier<\/span>
business attempt. She learned how to manage finances, deal with clients<\/span>
effectively, and promote her services in a competitive market.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

After gaining this new knowledge, Iqra was eager to<\/span> restart her journey<\/span>
as an entrepreneur<\/span>\u2014<\/span>but this time with the right skills and mindset.<\/span>
Seeing her commitment, HomeNet Pakistan, with support from UNDP,<\/span>
arranged a three<\/span>–<\/span>month certified beautician course for her at VTI<\/span>
Shalimar.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

This training gave Iqra a<\/span> completely new<\/span> skill set<\/span>. She not only learned<\/span>
the technical aspects of beauty services but also how to run a salon<\/span>
professionally. The course boosted her confidence and gave her the<\/span>
courage to step into a new field.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

After completing her beautician training, Iqra took a bold step and<\/span>
opened a small salon in her own home. Alongside running the salon, she<\/span>
also offers home<\/span>–<\/span>based beauty services in nearby areas. Her friendly<\/span>
attitude, professionalism, and quality work ha<\/span>ve helped her quickly gain<\/span>
loyal clients.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>

Today, with the blessings of Allah and her own hard work, Iqra is running<\/span>
her household smoothly. She feels empowered, independent, and proud<\/span>
to be contributing to her family\u2019s income. Her daughters look up to her<\/span>
